Environmental benefits of solar energy

Many homeowners and businesses turn to solar energy because of the environmental issues it combats. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the average household produces about 2- metric tons of carbon emissions a year. Solar energy installed in a two-person household can reduce carbon emission by about 4 tons a year. 39% of carbon emissions are produced by buildings, according to the U.S. Green Building Council. Widespread adoption of solar energy by homeowners and businesses can have a real impact on the number of harmful emissions produced.
